On Friday 17th April, a new fever will hit the highways and byways of the City centre when the gauntlet team or organisers, sponsors and team players will be out and about filming their latest marryoke to the once-upon-a-time hit single “Under the moon of love”, made famous by the Leicester band Showaddywaddy.
As soon as it is available, the video will be launched here on this website – so keep returning to check out for the update!!
In the meantime, Ian Guyler (Chairman of the east Midlands Region of the Lord’s taverners) recently caught up with former Showaddywaddy frontman and huge supporter of the Local Lord’s Taverners Committee, Dave Bartram for a chat outside that now, very famous, Leicester Landmark, Leicester Cathedral. Topics included King Richard III, the weather, decimalisation, talent shows and the pair didn’t help anyone but gardener’s and ducks by belting out a few lines from the chorus of “Singing in the Rain” … Photo’s and footage from their meeting is available here: (NB no animals were harmed in the making of the video but a fond but sad farewell was bid to one particular umbrella …)
